RADIATOR

A good quality radiator should be at high effectiveness at heat-exchange, constant performance, long life usage, easy to assembly and etc.

Firstly of all, the material for a radiator consists of: Radiator Fin, Tube, Header and Side plate, Gasket, Tank, Oil cooler and fittings. Below we would like to discuss one by one the points which will influence quality and the material we use, so you can have a general idea of our quality.

Radiator fin height: At most situation, less distance between tubes will make the heat radiating more efficiently, e.g., fin height at 8mm will better than fin height 9mm. On the other side, radiator with 9mm fins will save material than 8mm.

TEMCO PREMIUM RADIATOR use 8mm for most of the radiators and 5mm for radiators original in 5mm.

Radiator Tube: Usually, Aluminum radiator use HF tube. (High frequency welded tube). This tube material includes 3 layers: 4343/3003/7072. The inside 7072 layer is very important to prevent the corrosion from the chemicals in the water coolant inside the radiator.

There is another kind of tube--extrude tube. This tube doesn't have 4343 outside layer to help the tube and fins to be brazed during production, and there is none 7072 inside to help anti-corrosion, but it's cheap. We found another problem from extrude tube are the hardness. It's weakly than the HF tube due to the process for the extrude tube.

TEMCO PREMIUM RADIATOR use all HF tubes with material 4343/3003/7072 to ensure the good quality.

Thickness of Header and side plate: for big tanks, the header-plate will bear more pressure. Then, thickness of the header-plate is important. Normal 1.5mm thickness is not enough. The designer must notice this.

TEMCO PREMIUM RADIATOR use 1.5 mm thickness for most of the header and plate and 1.8mm for these radiators with big tank and 2.0mm for bigger engine cars

Tank: Tanks are made from PA66 material reinforced by glass fiber. Longer glass fiber makes the strength of tank stronger. And good Nylon will provide necessary performance to anti frozen and high temperature. Recycled plastic has short fiber, which many others use for production of tank in order to reduce cost. If the recycled plastic mixed during production of the tank, the Nylon will be poor at performance, and short fiber are helpless to the strength.

TEMCO PREMIUM RADIATOR use PA66GF30 standard for all the tanks.

Gasket: it plays a key role for a radiator, at most of the time, the main reason cause a leakage of the radiator is the poor quality of the gasket. It must be made by material EPDM. And it has to be designed in correct shape, material and quality control. Otherwise, the small components will cause the leakage and influence the radiators' life.

Oil cooler: usually there are 2 types of oil coolers used on most of the radiators, one is stainless steel plate type, and the other type is round copper tube type. Stainless steel plate type oil cooler is used on mostly of the big engine American cars and copper round tube type oil cooler is used on most of the cars in other countries. Since the cooper material is very expensive, some factories change the material from copper to Aluminum material, the price for copper is 4 times expensive than aluminum. In this case, some factories reduce cost by using the aluminum material to reduce the cost, but the heat transferring ability is much weak than copper material. Also there are factories, use aluminum material for the oil cooler tube but use the copper material fittings, so from the outlook of the radiator, you will think it is a copper oil cooler, but in fact it is aluminum type, because the round tube is installed inside the tank, and you can't see from outside, such combination of aluminum round tube and copper fitting will have problem in connections, because cooper and Aluminum may have electrochemistry reaction after some time. The Aluminum will lose very soon and cause leakage.

TEMCO PREMIUM RADIATOR use all Stainless steel oil coolers and Copper round oil cooler, Aluminum round oil coolers is strictly prohibited by us.
