AC Compressor
The AC compressor puts the evaporated coolant under pressure. Only gas is compressed and not the liquid. The compressor is connected to the engine of the car or truck via a drive shaft and belt. Coupling and decoupling is done via an electromagnetic clutch. In more modern vehicles, there is often a version without clutch, in which the compressor runs continuously, with a variable stroke volume.
